  1. Ordered from Eastbay on 11/30 via Amazon. When I placed the order the estimate delivery date was 12/8.On 12/2 I received a message that it is backordered and may not be delivered until early January. As I write this message the website still says that the exact same product is "In Stock".On 12/6 I contacted Eastbay, they were very personable and said it should arrive around 12/20.On 12/23 I received an email stating that is is backordered until 12/30.As of 12/23 Amazon states it is an In Stock item.

  2. I have been using an SV12 which is a great bat. Several reviews I read stated that the surge is basically a revamped SV12 to meet the new BBCOR rules. Not even close. The surge is not balanced like the SV12 at all. The Surge is more end loaded, which gives it a lot heavier feel. The hadnel is also much thinner. Hitting distance is good for a BBCOR. After using it for a few rounds of batting practice and games it now has somthing rolling around inside. So its going back. Im just disappointed with the balance and feel. Really wanted something more like the SV12.

  3. Superb bat, players & coaches rave about the construction, feel and balance of this bat. The performance is a noticeable step up from the Easton Rival, an excellent bat in its own right. This is a BBCOR certified bat so you can use it after January 1st 2012. Be aware the older BESR certified bats are still on the market, still fine to use this last year (2011), and you may find them quite a bit cheaper than the BBCOR bats to clear inventory. Look for the certification on the bat as you may find two seemingly identical Easton Surge bats with a $100 price difference. The cheaper BESR bat is excellent, some would say even better, but you won't be able to use it in NCAA or NFHS sanctioned play after the deadline noted earlier.
