Product Features
- Tri Strut TR3 Composite Barrel ? Tri Strut TR3 Composite provides strength, stability and consistent performance through triangular formations at the molecular level. TR3 creates a very strong and responsive barrel without any unnecessary weight.
- DoubleWall Barrel Construction ? Two independent walls create a dynamic springboard hitting surface giving you a sweet spot with ball-popping trampoline effect.
- Geo Endcap ? The dual density internal cap is full of load balancing triangles. It?s designed to maintain the stiffness of the barrel while dampening impact vibration to give you amazing feel, shot after shot.
- BBCOR Approved for college and high school play
- Tri Strut TR3 Handle? It?s the tightest/strongest composite DeMarini have developed. Gaining strength through triangular formations at the molecular level it efficiently transitions power from your hands to the barrel giving you balance and consistency.
I bought this for my son, 32" 29oz. He has made all stars since he was 10, Cooperstown at 12, etc. and this was his first year of high school ball, so he knows hitting. It was so dead we sent it back to DeMarini as defective. They said that is how BBcor wants the bats and it was not defective. My son was not able to hit it out of the infield in summer tournament play. He switched to last years BBcor VooDoo we picked up in close out and hit .300+ with the high school team. The CF5 bat is well balanced, but deader and worse than a wood bat. The kids know, and none of his team mates wanted to borrow it. Do not buy this bat.
ReplyDeleteI have been looking for bats, about a month and found this the best. The cf5 is a two piece bat with tr3 composite handle. The barrel is Composite 2 and 5 eighths inch barrel. The thing I don't like is about the sound of the bat, it sounds like a wood bat. But that has no efect on the ability of the bat.
ReplyDeleteLet's face it, by rule, bbcor bats do not have the same pop and trampoline effect as their composite predecessors. So it is pointless to compare today's required bbcors to their non-bbcor brethren. The 2012 CF5 is a superior bbcor bat. Before buying, my teenage son did a blind test, swinging many bbcors, and kept coming back to the CF5. He found this bat to have superior balance, making it feel "lighter" for best bat speed, and it has a large sweet spot.Due to the nice balance, he swings this bat exceptionally well and has been driving the ball. Wouldn't you know, growth spurt kicked in and we need a new bat - it will be the CF5 again, despite the crushing $400 price tag.If you like end loaded bats, the Rip-It is actually getting great feedback from power hitters on the local showcase team. But for a balanced bat, go with the deMarini CF5!
