The Demarini D271 is the best maple bat I've used. In comparison, last year I used a M9 110 and a Max Bat 610. This bat has a warranty which has gone unused. Very good looking bat and has a really nice taper on the handle. Everyone on my team wants one.

  2. I manage and play for an Adult Baseball League Team in Orlando. For the first 4 years we had 2 older DeMarini composite bats given to us by another manager, which we used as team bats. They were great, unfortunately one was lost/stolen and the other, after at least 6 years of life finally broke at the handle. I was impressed with the the durability they had, they were 6+ years old, still had some pop, and they were used frequently by the players. So when I started looking for a replacement, I started looking at this model. I also checked out the Mizuno and Rawlings composites as well which sell for around 1/2 what this one. I was tempted by the lower price, but ultimately stuck with the DeMarini. I did read a few lackluster reviews for this bat, but with my past experience I went for it. I've also picked up the Mizuno in the past and wasn't convinced that the composite wrapper on the bat would produce the same pop the DeMarinis we had had. We have had the bats for almost 3 weeks and so far myself and the team think it is great. The wood barrel feels really natural, no different than any of the traditional wooden bats I've used. The handle is comfortable and easy to grip. The ball flies off the bat, the first balls I hit in BP seemed to have more life than what I was swinging before. It has really good balance, the weight distribution is perfect for this spin model. The price is a bit more than some others, but I like swinging it. Also, I would usually break 5 ash bats a year, so at $50 a pop, if I can get 2 years from this bat it's a bargain. If I have any troubles or break it in the next few months I'll come back and update this, but so far I'm very happy.
